The premises of Formentera Guitars have their very own, unmistakable charm. This is proven, among other things, by the many visitors we welcome every single day.
Between old machinery and wood shavings, it might look a bit chaotic at first glance, but trust us: we are fully professional and top-equipped.
Guitar Building Tradition
In 1988, a special idea was born right here on Formentera: a workshop combining professional guitar building with the relaxed rhythm of island life.
The concept remains as simple as it is magical – music lovers should be able to create their own electric guitars and basses completely from scratch during their holiday, guided by expert instruction.
To this day, two main things count for us: the quality of the instruments and the sense of relaxation for our guests.

Ekki Hoffmann
Ekki originally came to Formentera as a student in 1989. In 1991, the electrical engineer took over as head of the workshop and has since turned Formentera Guitars into what it is today.
In over 200 courses, there is hardly anything Ekki hasn’t seen or built yet. Learning from his experience is a true enrichment for every visitor.
Ralph Reithmeier
Also came to the workshop first as a student a few years ago. The craft and the unique atmosphere quickly made the trained software engineer realize that he had found his passion here.
Since 2024, Ralph has been guiding the courses together with Ekki.
